IMPORTED MARE FROM AUSTRIA

"Masha is our newest addition she arrived 3/2008 from Oregon. She is an exceptional proven mare.Masha's dam, Madeira is Classified Gold with 81 points. Masha's sire, Archimedes is the famous Austrian stallion. He died after only a few breeding seasons, which makes his offspring very valuable. Masha has a rare and exceptional bloodline. I hope that Masha will produce many great foals with us. Masha is currently broke to ride. Masha is an extrememly calm horse. She is a people lover also. Her only son, Styleschutz has been classified Silver by the World Haflinger Federation. You can check him out at www. gervalhaflinger.com. She has been a great addition to our equine family in many ways.

Here is what her previous owner had to say about her: She is quite impressive!!

"Masha is the second mare we imported from Austria.  Her dam, Madeira achieved "Elite mare status" when she scored 81 points at her Inspection and Classification in Austria.  Masha's sire is the famous Austrian stallion, Archimedes.   Archimedes sired several "approved" stallions in Austria and many 2000 World Show class winners. Unfortunately, Archimedes died after only a few breeding seasons, just as he was being recognized as a producer of excellent foals. This makes his offspring very valuable.

Masha arrived in the United States on April 27th, 2001 and we brought her home from UC Davis on May 15th, after being quarantined there for 14 days.  Masha was born 9 weeks early, when her mother was startled by fireworks.  The previous owner, Anne Nikolussi, milked her dam, Madeira, every 20 minutes and bottle-fed Masha for 4 days, before she was strong enough to stand and nurse on her own.  Needless to say, with all that early handling, Masha loves people.

Before leaving Austria, Masha was bred to Standschutz, for a 2002 foal. Within his first foal crop to reach 3 years old (breeding age), Standschutz had 2 sons "approved" for breeding, under the very strict Inspection & Classification system used for Austrian breeding stallions .  Masha delivered her first foal, a handsome colt on March 22, 2002.  We named him "Styleschutz".  More pictures of Styleschutz can be seen on this website on the "Stallions" page.

In September 2001, when Masha was 6 month pregnant, we presented her for Inspection & Classification.  Although the judges wrote very nice comments about her attributes, Masha was having a "pregnant day".  She was too laid back to show brilliance, presence or the good movement she is capable of. Masha has such a calm nature, that when they waved plastic bags at her, encouraging her to show her best movement, she just stood there and looked at them, as if to say, "What's wrong with you; are you crazy?"  She received 8's (very good) in 8 out of 10 categories. But this was the year, they "averaged" the 3 judges scores, and Masha didn't quite reach a "Silver" rating. However, when I look at her colt, Styleschutz, and watch his exquisite movement, I realize Masha produced one of the best foals ever born at our facility.

In March 2003, we started Masha's riding training.  In 2005, we started ground driving Masha in preparation for cart training.  She is doing very well in both disciplines and looks forward to being taken out of her paddock to work and learn her jobs.  Masha loves to be groomed, is good with the farrier, can be bathed, clipped, and vacuumed.  She traveled many hours on an airplane, during her trip from Austria, and has been trailered thousands of miles since.  She accepts everything new very calmly."

MASHA IS BRED TO NICKERSON FOR A 2010 FOAL. Bred on May 9th, Estimated due date April 14th

UPDATE: HIT ATTENDED THE INSPECTION AND CLASSIFICATION ON SEPTEMBER 6TH 2008 AND OBTAINED A 75 POINT SILVER CLASSIFICATION. THIS IS VERY HARD TO OBTAIN EXPECIALLY AT AGE 13. MOST HORSES GO THROUGH THE CLASSIFICATION WHEN THEY ARE 3 YEARS OLD. VERY IMPRESSIVE! JUDGES HAD VERY NICE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HER. THANKS TO RAY MILLER FOR SHOWING AND PREPING HER!

Hit is also an exceptional mare. She has been used primarily as a broodmare. She has had one foal with us, Nasdaq Hits Again. He will be our future Stallion prospect. Hit is out of the highly desired Winterstein and Hera. Her sire, Winterstein, was a World Champion. Her dam, Hera, was also a exquisit mare.  Hit loves to be attention and to be groomed.  She is also a wonderful additional to our equine family. Hit is bred to A-Rock, a gold rated stallion for a late March to early April 2009 foal.  This should be an exceptional foal from a Gold rated Sire and a Silver Rated Dam.

HEIGHT: 58 inches

Imported Austrian Mare with T/H Brand

Lorena is a beautiful, kind hearted mare who I would consider selling to the right home only. She is not broke to ride or drive single. She has been driven double by the amish (previous owners). She has been used as a broodmare. Her Sire is Nabucco (Natan).  He is an excellent stallion and the sire of many great mares. Her Dam is Limosa (Starkenback). She has very good ground manners.

CATRIN OOS

DATE FOALED: 6/24/2003

We have had Catrin since she was a filly. She has been an excellent mare for us. She has very good bloodlines. Catrin is broke to ride and drive. She does very well in halter classes. She is a very calm horse. She loads, baths, clips and stand for the farrier. Catrin lightens in the spring/summer and darkens in the fall/winter. She is our ridding horse since she has a preference for it.  She is a very calm natured horse. She would probably make an excellent trail horse. We plan to have Catrin Classified in 2009 or 2010.

Mattie is a lot of fun. She will try something to see if she can get away with it but when she finds out that she can't she gives up. Mattie is our talker. She tells us when it is time for her to eat. I can count on her to tell he Hello every morning, and anytime I go outside. Mattie is our cart horse. She loves to be driven!!
